Pushing my limits a bit further with this one...

This was a gift for ^KovoWolf after her character Kovo, I was really excited about this one because Kovo is a beautiful wolf and I really wanted to practice something more complicated :meow: I was also extremely scared because I didn't know a single thing about wolf anathomy, and I was scared that I would get it all wrong and make a complete fool out of myself :iconcryforeverplz: I ended up studying lots of wolf pictures and watching a couple of animal shows.

One of my goals was getting used to making bigger sculptures, but I ended up making it smaller than I originally planned, again :stare: I start with a size in mind, and I make things smaller and smaller until I end up with something like this. I absolutely love the small size and the tiny details, you know that I love working small, but it wasn't what I had planned xD The eyes were really hard to paint, I have no idea how I managed to make them symmetric, you can't notice it that well because the glare makes them look a bit uneven, so you'll have to trust me (and you better trust me, I worked really hard!). The scars were really hard (but fun!) to do.

This was also the first sculpture I make completely with Sculpey Firm, and WOW! I really loved it. Blending is a bit harder, but it's great for tiny details and small shapes. I can't wait to use it again, I'll keep practicing how to make sculptures, I'm getting close to making people... I'm scared :noes: I need to get the right clay first, I keep wishing I had some of that beautiful translucent skin color that looks like porcelain (hey Polyform, if you're reading this I wouldn't being sponsored some Super Sculpey Living Doll clay  or at least start selling it in Mexico!).

This is the reference that I used, Kovo belongs to Kovowolf:

Technical stuff: All handmade with polymer clay, no molds, premades, cutters or bought pieces were ever used, it was all sculpted just using my tiny hands, a needle, blade and a blending tool. The eyes, fur and scar were painted with acrylic paints. A tiny bit of glaze was used to make the eyes shiny. The bust was mounted on a mirror because it looks really cool. It's about 1.5 cm tall or a little bit over half an inch.
