Mondhund 11: Nikeby ^Talty

This was a commission for *GrandmaThunderpants, she asked me to make her mother's dog Nike in the style of my Mondkatze, this is a pendant but I took the photos before gluing the bail. *GrandmaThunderpants referred to Nike as the "potato dog" because of her adorable chubbiness, and I looooved that XD so I kinda accentuated her potatoness. This pose lazily stretching was one of the references she sent me, she had that face of utter happiness and I tried to paint it, I hope successfully.

She told me that her mom loves tiki style, which was quite a challenge because we don't have anything tiki here lol. I worked with the photos she sent me and I noticed that they use a lot of wood and hibiscus flowers, so that's what I used for this design

I wouldn't say it's 100% accurate, but she liked it ^^

Technical stuff: All handmade by me with polymer clay, the wood grain was made with clay too. Acrylic paints were used to paint the moon and Nike.

Since we both love cats and identify a lot with them, eventually the term "Mondkatze" (Mooncat) surged - it's in German because we both study German and we like to speak in German between us to practice. This one is called "Mondhund" instead because it's a dog}

I just wanted to let you know, Nike actually passed away from old age yesterday.

But all today my mom wore this necklace and really cherished it, so I wanted to thank you again for making this so well, and the one of Negra that I cherished when she passed. You may just be making jewelry, but to my family you've made two very cherished mementos now.
