Orange Cake Earringsby ^Talty

This is a commission for ~maitezaitut. She wanted dangling earrings inspired by this Lime Halves Dangle Earrings by ~Madizzo. Instead of limes she wanted oranges, and she also wanted me to include a tiny orange cake. I changed the orientation of the orange halves because I wanted to use headpins instead of eyepins for safety, and because I wanted to show the pattern of the cane.

I made a new orange cane, which I think looks better than my previous attempts [link] . This is also the smallest realistic cake I've made, each is only 1.2 cm (1/2").

A couple of weeks ago I was eating cake, I grabbed a bite and had a epiphany. My cakes don't look baked! This is the first time I try that baked effect in my cakes, and I'm quite happy with the results

I just hope ~maitezaitut will like it!

PS. For the first time in many photos, I couldn't find any cat hairs!

I can't remember the last photo that didn't have them! But you can see my reflection in the shiny round thingy Oo so I suppose that now I'm the one trolling on my photos.
