Pink Roses Pendant by Talty Pink Roses Pendant by Talty

I love making roses! They're therapeutic :) I found a way to make them even prettier, with a slight color variation so they look more real and less plastic ;)

When I was taking this photos I noticed that the pendant looks much better over my skin... I don't know how, but it's as if the color of my skin compliments the pendant and viceversa. But it's not really my style so I'm not gonna keep it. I have to find an owner for this pendant :la:

Made with Sculpey III, bright eyeshadow and metal findings.

SO who's the owner? And how did you create those strokes at the edges? And did you paint them gold? :O

I gave it to a friend :D I don't remember what I used for the strokes, I used something that had ridges but I don't remember what xD I have several tools that look like that. I think it was a toothpaste cap.

I painted it with gold mica, it sticks a lot better than acrylics :D

That one big rose looks like it has a different color center than the rest. It looks a little odd, but it's not too distracting.
Did you dust your little roses with the eye shadow? Because if it works and doesn't wipe off, that is brilliant.
I love the colors. It's not my style and I'd never wear it, but I would hang it on my little necklace thing and admire it (not the life it deserves at alllll)

I made a cane with a skinner blend from dark to light pink, and I used the slices to make petals with a color transition. And it doesn't wipe off :D I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks it's not my style :giggle:

:iconheheplz: That's amazing that it doesn't wipe off.
Also, what is a cane, how does one make one, and how does one use one?

A cane is a log of polymer clay with one image that's repeated on the whole length of the log, so when you cut a slice you get that image. One of the best examples of what's a cane, how to make it and use it, is *chat-noir's tutorial: [link] that's how I learned to make canes :D

:XD: Cool! Thanks! How do you get the corners though? Like for the insides of an orange or something? That always fascinates me.
And I'm guessing you store them in the fridge or something?

Yes I store them in the fridge, so convenient :D

I can't imagine my folks would be very happy with me suddenly taking up the fridge with clay canes :giggle: I always have random stuff in there as it is.

lol I know what you mean
I got a small container and I just keep it in the fridge! That also protects my canes from being squished.

Ooooh, this is pretty. I tried to make roses this small, and I ended up messing it up DX I can only make big roses so far.

It's just my clumsy fingers haha. I got one small rose once, so if I did it once, I can do it again! heehee ^_^

That's the spirit! :D well not the bit about the clumsy fingers, as you mentioned if you made it once you can make it again! you just need a bit of practice, don't think you have clumsy fingers and give up :meow:

cute! I love the realistic of the roses - you played it well :)
Eyeshadow does help add that extra shineyness to it - doesnt it? :)

no problem! :) Same here, realistic is much more better when it comes to roses :)
haha i love shinyness! You actually did the same thing i did the other day when i was making a hibiscus flower :P im still working on it tho, the stem is really annoying :( Im making small dots sticking out that were attacked to pieces or wire, but when i baked those dots and left them in the kitchen my parents threw them away thinking it was garbage so i have to do it all over again :(

wow, it looks fine dear!
me also love making rose in cold porcelain, because it more realistic than polymer clay, cold porcelain is a bit elastic, so i can make a "grumpled" petal, while polymer clay is too hard to work with :(
