This was a commission for another mexican girl that wanted a flan ring as a sort of birthday present to herself
in case someone doesn't know, a flan is a sort of custard that is very popular in Mexico as a dessert, it's made with vanilla beans and it has some burnt sugar syrup in top. It's extremely delicious and it has a fantastic texture
I just made myself hungry thinking of flan...
She wanted the flan in a white plate with a little spoon, both made by me too
I think that it's a very cute design, I just hope she doesn't try to eat it. In case anyone is interested I'm now accepting commissions for rings
My only complain is that the pastel dust didn't blend very well in the burnt sugar, so you can see some specks of it... they're not very noticeable in person, but they're painfully obvious in macro photography XD that's something to keep in mind next time I make syrup. Oh and also, this photos is really weird the contrast is all off, I had a poor light that day.
Technical stuff: All handmade by me with polymer clay, no molds premades or anything else was used, it's all 100% handmade by me. The plate was made using the same technique I showed in my plate tutorial: [link]
. I used a silver plated adjustable ring glued with E6000
