These photos came out a bit different from my usual style, a bit more... vintage? I'm lost when it comes to photography, all I did differently was take them late in the evening so I guess it was something to do with the light. Edit: silly me! I also used a different, darker background. What do you guys think, it's a different style which one do you prefer?
This was a commission for ~Rae-Lynn (here's her feedback), she asked me to do lemon dangling earrings and a lemon pie necklace, I was asked to include a dollop of whipped cream on top of the pie with a slice of lemon. I love how the second photo shows the segments I make on the lemon and the translucency, what I don't love so much is the speck of dust that escaped my inspection that's the worst thing about photographing miniatures, all the stray dust is painfully obvious. It was superficial, not part of the clay so it can be brushed off.
Dangling earrings are so much fun to make the funniest thing is that I don't like wearing them, but I love making them
Technical stuff: All handmade with polymer clay, no premades or molds were used, everything was made from scratch by me. The whipped cream is polymer clay too. Metal findings were bought from a local craft store.
MOAR EARRINGS
Thanks to the awesome =maytel for making a custom shape of my kitty logo
I just love that lemon slice texture so much! The color of the pie filling looks perfect to me - I got a few comments that my lemon pie looked more like key lime O_o But I was glad to read your comment about colors being different depending on the monitor, I'll be sure to keep that in mind ^_^
Thanks for that! This lemon pie? [link] it looks perfectly yellow and delicious to me, I think we actually went for the same shade of translucent yellow it's also funny that I used a similar background color, maybe that's why some people are seeing it greenish. I still blame their monitor configuration.
