haha, when i first saw the picture of the waffles, i thought it was a polymer tutorial! and i was like OMG I GOTTA KNOW HOW TO MAKE THEM THAT REAL and then i saw the eggs and stuff and i was like 'aaaaaw.. d'oh'
lol I'm sorry I deceived you I make real food tutorials too, I did make a polymer clay waffle tutorial: [link] I'm still trying to make my waffles look more realistic when I achieve more realism I'll update my waffles tutorial.
I tried to make the waffles and they were yummy... the only thing i would suggest is to add a pinch of cardamom... but that's just because i'm used to it X3 ... Oh and i'm really glad that you didn't write it in lbs/ ounce etc... cuz that would be hard to understand for us non american people XD lol... ^-^
I haven't tried it with cardamom, but every once in a while I like to add some cinnamon and yeah I know, I get frustrated when some things are in lbs/oz when only like 1% of the people in this wold use it
i like to try out diffrent spices too But i havent tried cinnamon yet... guess that'll be my next experiment >w< ... btw... have you tried to add some food colouring to the waffles? just for the fun of it? well i have and it turned out pretty awsome i must say... imagine red, blue and green waffle hearts... my friends started to wonder what i'd put in them haha...
umm... great tutorial... but i still don't understand the difference between the waffle irons... I'm scandinavian you see X'D only have the heart shaped iron could you be so nice to explain for me the differences? *feels a bit stupid that she doesn't know*
Don't ever feel stupid, I love to answer questions as best as I can
Well, honestly I've never used a heart shaped iron, but Scandinavian waffles are definitely the prettiest of them all The problem with square waffle irons is homogeneity, the angles are farther away from the center so the dough is cooked unevenly. Besides, I once read that the angles don't transfer heat efficiently, therefore the waffle isn't cooked evenly. If you see the photos, my waffle looks kinda patchy!
I recently got a round waffle iron, and there's a big difference! My waffles are now golden, crisp and even. I don't see much difference between round and heart irons (except for the cuteness factor) so you shouldn't worry about it I wish I could find a heart iron here, but it's already hard to find a round one
