Hypoallergenic Earrings now available!

Journal Entry: Fri Jun 1, 2012, 7:28 PM

Hello everyone! Long time without writing a journal, eh? I sometimes start writing stuff, but I end up deleting it because I think they're uninteresting or silly. I hardly every know what to write here.

I wanted to make an official announcement that I got my hypoallergenic earrings today, so I can now offer hypoallergenic earrings for people with metal allergies. I made sure to make a deep investigation of the materials and what causes more allergies so I can offer what's best for my clients. I will write a more detailed list later and take photos, but this is part of what I'm offering:

NOTE: For now I'm only offering earrings, but if there's anything else you would like to buy ask me and I'll see what I can do!

- Niobium hook earrings, natural color. Niobium is the most hypoallergenic metal currently available, it's chemically inert and it's what most people recommend for people with severe allergies. The hooks I'm offering are 100% niobium, they're a beautiful dark silver color with a shiny finish. Niobium is not cheap, so they add $3 to any order.

- Surgical steel hook earrings. Nickel free! They're a shiny silver color, with a coil and a small ball, all made from the same material. Easy to clean and disinfect, as surgical steel is meant to be. They add $2 to any order.

- Titanium stud earrings. 1-ASTM-F67 grade, which means they're made from the same material made for surgical implants. The stoppers are nickel free surgical steel, but I can offer plastic stoppers instead. Add $2 to any order.

Also available:
- Stainless steel stud earrings. As far as I know they don't have nickel, but the manufacturer never answered me. I've been using them without troubles for years, but if you have severe allergies I recommend the titanium studs instead. No additional charge.
- Silver plated stud earrings. From my research I found out that some silver plating can include nickel, but the manufacturer couldn't tell me if they did, so I'm not sure if mine do. I've been using them without troubles, but if you have severe allergies I recommend the titanium studs instead. No additional charge.
- Stainless steel hook earrings. The kind that is widely available and everyone uses in earrings. No additional charge.

Everything will be all right in the end. If it's not all right, then it's not the end.

This is nice! I've been diagnosed with nickel allergy ever since I've started playing flute, so this is wonderful~

That's too bad, why not? Your ears aren't pierced? :(

I pierced them two times already.
Once when I was 4 and the second time was some months ago.
I dunno why, but I just can't handle them. And I don't even mean that cheap stuff you get for a dollar or two, I mean the good ones, wich actually are especially for first use. Normaly it shouldn't do anything but heal up, but yeah...it just didn't ._.
It stayed...inflammed? (sorry I don't know the word >.<" ).
And it hurt pretty badly. So then I took them out for one night so I can at least sleep and the next day I wasn't even able to but the earing in anymore X-x"
And I think a third time would just be a waste of money :/
So all I can try is to find some nice ear-clips, if I want something on my ear...but earrings are just impossible x'D

ouch that sounds very painful and disappointing. I guess it's impossible for some people to wear earrings like that, well I hope at least it didn't leave any weird scarring. And luckily you still have the option to wear clips or stuff like that :)

But thed don't bother much.
