Christmas Muro Contest

It's Christmas time! In celebration, ^Athos-of-Light and I wanted to have a bit of festive fun. So we decided to bring some holiday cheer with a murotastic contest.
Just simply follow the rules listed below, and remember above all, spread some holiday cheer and have a good time!

Contest theme
This is an open contest, you can draw anything you want as long as it's Christmas related!
For example: Santa, Christmas tree, Rudolph, Jesus, etc...

Show me your best craft!UPDATE: Wow we received a lot more entries than we expected! We're really sorry we couldn't include them all, we made our best with the limitations that dA sets for icons. Maybe we could do this again and change the icon with the seasons or special events, that would be fun! It was very inspiring and encouraging to learn what piece you're most proud of and why, it was a great learning experience and we loved meeting you all a bit better

I have a confession to makeI am completely addicted to The Vampire Diaries.
I KNOW what you're going to say, you're going to say "Marie, I thought you didn't like girly shows".
Apparently I do! I LOVE IT.
I blame my friend Gen, she has been on my back trying to get me to watch it for years. SO I watched the first episode on netflix and while I was watching it I kept texting her comments like "SO LAME" "*yawn*" "Damon is a creepy pedo" "weak characters", she pushed me to just watch one more episode. and now it's like I'm on crack. hahaha!
So, yes, I watched 3 seasons in 2 weeks and now I'm up to date on the fourth one. ugh. Stop judging me!
I am still not a twifan, though!

Thursday Features :: AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!Hello!
It's been awhile, hasn't it? It has. I've been MIA for the last couple of weeks due to some personal issues, well, more like car issues but I don't want to go through any details. It's all boring and the story is quite long.
Rather than bore you with the details, I'd like to share some Thursday Features with you! AWESOME!
I didn't receive any suggestions for Avengers Assemble, which is understandable. The theme may have been a bit too specific or difficult or some of you may not be all that familiar with The Avengers. Like I said, it's understandable. I did collect various Avengers themed deviations for all of you to look at and I'll resume my Thursday Features post next week with an all new theme! SUPER!
FYI, these deviations won't spoil anything for those who haven't seen the movie yet. I was sure to keep this feature spoiler free!

Growing up, I hated pizza. Actually, I hated all junk food (hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, etc) and I still don't eat junk food... except for pizza. At about 16 years old I started liking pizza and I've LOVED it since, it has all the things I love: bread, tomato, cheese, seasonings, and veggies. But never meat, and I guess the reason I hated it before was because I didn't know it could be prepared without meat. I never get tired of it, and every time there's a chance to eat it, I do! Whenever there's leftovers I will eat them for breakfast, dinner, coffee break, whatever it takes to finish it all. I usually joke saying that I'm making up for all the years I wasted without eating it, all the pizza forever lost.

I write this because I just witnessed the most beautiful pizza that has ever existed, and I can't eat it

my stomach is growling and demanding it, but it will never be mine

Ode to the pizza
Oh beautiful pizza
As I see the light caressing your golden crust
And the drizzling cheese inviting me to taste it
I shed a salty tear
(Never as perfectly salty as your seasonings)
For I know in my tummy, you will never be mine

My Secret Food...This article is inspired by ^Talty's feature journal "I have a secret food affair with pizza". Everyone who knows me knows I love bacon with a passion that only my boy friend usually sees

What few people know is my love for the humble potato - a vegetable that is so diverse in the methods preparation that you sometimes forget it's there at all but if I haven't had potatoes for a few days I start to crave them more than any other food - and that includes *gasp* chocolate.

Ooohh, I love making pizza! Okay, let's be frank, that's probably the only dish I actually can cook properly...

Though I don't have anything against meat, so I like adding poultry in mine - it's tender both in texture and taste, so it only complements the veggies, sauces and piles of cheeses I always add.

And just like in your case, the pizza leftovers become my ultimate meal for whatever time of the day. But why wouldn't it, after all?..
