This week I received messages from two different people (through Etsy and Storenvy) offering to make a review of my work. They splattered huge statics, like having millions of instagram followers, popularity, or having done it before and making people famous. Of course, their generosity was conditioned by me agreeing to send them some of my work for free. While I don't object the concept of reviewing someone's work, I worry that this has become a popular way of scamming artisan crafters to give away their work for free with promises of exposure and increasing their sales. I wanted to write this journal to tell everyone to be careful, specially if you're just starting your business and struggling to get noticed, it may sound tempting but you should never give away your hard work!
One of them was even more blunt and said that he could write a positive review of my work just by

Miniaturists, unite!I haven't met a single miniaturist in deviantART that hasn't made the same question at least once: Where do I submit my work?.
Whether you make dolls, furniture, clothes, props, food, scenery, buildings, trains, wargaming miniatures, models, dollhouses or many other miniatures I'm surely forgetting, at some point or another there's no appropiate gallery to submit our work. Artisan Crafts / Ceramics, Pottery & Clay / Miniatures is only appropriate if you use clay, and the next best option, Traditional Art / Sculpture doesn't make the cut most times.
As renowned artist ~Snowfern so eloquently stated: "as I'm moving on to different mediums, I really do wish dA had some scale dollhouse miniature section right now, I can only post my mini clay work under clay -> miniatures, so everything else is quite random, like my 1:12 books are under....bookmaking??".

Here's my guidelines for suggesting DDs to me, if I ever reject your submission please don't be discouraged and keep sending me more! It's impossible to accept all suggestions, specially when I already have enough suggestions for one area. Also don't forget that these are guidelines, not rules.

Attention all artisans: stop undercharging!As a member of the Artisan Craft community here at DeviantART, I looove to browse around the AC galleries and see what other deviants are up to, what things are trending, and look for up and coming artists to feature in the future. But sadly there's one trend I've been noticing that is very, very bad.
Undercharging your work!
Let's start off with the most important thing. Now I know some cheap buyers love these low prices, but let's be honest cheap buyers-- you're not long term supporters. People who want your work for super cheap are people who will haggle or snag a deal and run. There is nothing wrong with having sales, getting rid of old charms for cheap, or even doing discounts for special occasions but you can't cater to the cheapskates! xD You want people who appreciate handmade items for what they are. And that's a unique, quality piece.

The perfect gift for any cat or dog lover. All sorts of customizations are encouraged! The price varies with the decoration of the moon and pose that you want.

100% of the profits (minus shipping and materials) will be donated to my local non-kill, non-profit animal shelter, the Angeles Peludos (Furry Angels). so by commissioning a Mondkatze or Mondhund you are getting an unique work of art with your beloved friend, and helping animals in need!

Bracelets Starting from $30

Hand made polymer clay beads in a durable elastic band. Since they require the most pieces, they're also the most expensive. Made to order to comfortably fit your wrist.
