Personally, I'm not a fan of Valentine's Day, so I think that perhaps it wouldn't necessarily appeal to all (though it may also do just the opposite and I understand that). So perhaps as ~1Kamichama said, a quote would be quite interesting. This way the artist has freedom and it may suit all mediums (or at least, most). I think that whatever you decide will be lovely and fair.
Hmm... you know, I'm not a bit fan of Valentine's Day either, but I know that it's a big deal to almost everyone else so that's why I was considering it. I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't like it that much!
Well I'm glad you like the quote idea too, I didn't consider that it will help me fit all mediums, but now that you mentioned it I love the idea even more!!!
Haha, nope! You're not the only one who isn't the most enthused about it. I understand where you're coming from, though, since it IS such a big deal to most others.
Now does this cover all art types. Since I am a traditional drawer, I'd love to part-take in this [just for fun, I don't have a chance of winning]. I was thinking, quite bluntly about this, draw a design for a pair of earrings [since that is all I saw of your gallery before I posted here.. sorry for not being like "ZOMG CREEP DA GALLERY"] or anything you are comfortable with making? And the winner "or winners" get their design made? "shrugs"
Now my question for you is how will you determine the results? I would believe that you have a decent amount of followers which would imply a load of contest participants. Would you form a jury of multiple persons to lower any possible bias over the deviations? Also, would you limit the amount of deviations a person could enter into the contest?
I think I won't limit the submissions because I would love to see a lot of submissions about the judging, I'll think about it and I'll decide that according to the theme I pick in the end. I may ask my fiancée or friends to help me pick the winners, when I start the contest I'll write all of that in the rules so no one feels cheated
Well, of course now I'm having a massive brain fart....maybe something that represents something of the artist's culture? Like Korean = some art with either a hanbok, kimchi or Korean scene. Not sure if that makes sense...waiting for my lunch to process and get my brain going again.
