Skull commission

This was the last commission I took last year, it was a favor for a friend of a cousin (actually, hubby's cousin but still sorta my cousin, right?). The girl that commissioned these figurines wanted them as a present for her boyfriend, apparently he's a big fan of a band called Voodoo Glow Skulls. This band has a song called Dead Soldiers, and someone made a crazy and pretty random music video for the song XD the band is represented as some skelletons dressed in fancy clothes, so I made my best to reproduce them down to the smallest detail possible. This was my first time using a wire armature and sculpting more detailed figurines. I'm still afraid to sculpt humans, so this was a nice middle point to practice some techniques. I made my best to sculpt the fingers, faces, and clothes. I used mostly colored clay, but some details were painted with acrylics to match the video. I'm a bit perfectionist, so it was a challenge to stop myself from making everything too nice and tidy, or adding details that weren't present in the originals. I used head pins for the metal details of the instruments, and the tiniest bit of wire for the singer's monocle. I spent a little more time with the baterist, I wanted him to be able to sit in front of the battery. The girl that commissioned them wanted to make a special stand for them, I think she glued them down? So I didn't have to worry about balance or stability.

I finished these in the last second, so I couldn't take photos with my good camera. These were taken at my in-law's with my phone's camera. The amount of grain really annoys me Oo and the photos look flat and boring. Still, this was a huge mile stone for me so I wanted to share them any feedback will be much appreciated.

Technical stuff: Handmade by me with polymer clay, no molds or anything premade was used. Some details were painted with acrylic paints. Wire and headpins were used too. They are about 5 cm (2 inches) tall.
